Rabbi Poriel Shelomo Limas Nahari is a researcher, author, law student, and community leader dedicated to preserving the Classical Sephardic tradition and the Geonic-Maimonidean approach to Tora and Halakhah. A descendant of the tribe of Levi, his journey of Tora study began at the age of 14 with a commitment to studying the Scriptures from beginning to end in search of truth. This lifelong pursuit led him to embrace his ancestral heritage and the enduring tradition of the Oral Tora.
For more than twenty years, Rabbi Poriel has studied under respected independent Sephardic scholars, including Hakham Luciano de Lopes, Hakham Yehonatan de Mota, and Hakham Isaac S.D. Sassoon, while also drawing extensively from the teachings and writings of Hakham José Faur z"l. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Florida International University and is currently pursuing an MBA.
As an Associate Rabbi of the Tora V'Ahava of Florida community, Rabbi Poriel is committed to strengthening Jewish education through clear, thoughtful Tora instruction rooted in the Classical Sephardic tradition. He is especially passionate about helping returnees and those exploring their Jewish heritage develop a meaningful and lasting relationship with the Tora of Moshe.
Rabbi Poriel believes Tora should be communicated in a way that speaks to every generation. Through teaching, writing, music, and digital media, he seeks to present authentic Tora values in language and formats that resonate with today's communities while remaining faithful to the Classical Sephardic tradition.
