"I can be any place in the world, yet never leave my home. As long as I am here you are never alone. I am here ,I am there. I am your imagination." -Rabbi Catriel
Join me, as I learn and teach Tora V' Ahava to students & parents from all ages and various backgrounds.
Being a Rabbi (teacher) is one of the most rewarding professions there is. In my personal experience, I found that it opens doors to re-learn, re-explore and exchange some of life's most memorable moments while at the same time creating life-time bonds with your students.
Again in my personal opinion the top qualities for good teachers to have include the following:
As a parent myself, I would focus on what I call three aspects of teaching: preparation for classes, teaching in the classroom and communication with parents and other teachers. As a parent it is well within the rules for you to ask about their personal teaching plans and how effective these methods have been in the past. Isolate some different everyday situations and ask them briefly explain how they would handle them.
Rabbi Catriel received his semicha [rabbinical ordination] under the guidance of the highly praised, respected, and dedicated Chacham V'Rav Ovadia of the Fetaya Rabbinic Dynasty.
Rabbi Catriel has worked closely with the highly respected and praised Chacham V'Rav Moshe of the Elbaz Rabbinic Dynasty.
Rabbi Catriel has in addition learned and studied under some of the most prominent poskim, rabbis and talmid chachamim of the generation, these individuals have taught and learned in some of the most prominent orthodox communities and yeshivot i.e. . Khal Joesph in Los Angeles; Communidad Hebrea Sefaradi de Bogota in Bogota and Yeshivat Or'Chaim, Yerushalim to name a few.
During his collegiate studies , Rabbi Catriel dedicated himself to researching and disseminating the Tora and Minhagim of the Chachamim of Morocco, Sudan, Ethiopia and Yemen. In the year 2020 Rabbi Catriel embarked on a mission to disseminate the halakhot and minhagim of Morocco, Sudan, Ethiopia and Yemen to Jews with Sephardic ancestry in various countries in turn aiding many Bnei Anusim living in south-east America and abroad connect and reconnect with their Jewish roots.
Rabbi Catriel personally believes that Qiruv begins with working personally with individuals, and smaller communities connecting and reconnecting all with the teachings of Tora V'Ahava.
